The Raman Research Institute is a premier autonomous institute engaged in research in basic sciences. It is funded by the Government of India. The Raman Research Institute, Bengaluru, is inviting applications for Two “Library Trainee” posts. Candidates interested in acquiring hands-on exposure to new paradigms in the profession may apply. The position is temporary for 6 months and is likely to be extended up to 2 years after a performance review.

Selection criteria:
Essential: The candidate must have a regular Master of Library and Information Science (MLISc) degree or equivalent and a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 60% in both degrees.
Only those who have completed MLISc after 2020, and who are waiting for their results are eligible to apply.

Desirable: The candidate should have excellent technical and communication skills.

Age Limit: The upper age limit is 30 years as on the last date of closing of applications. Relaxation in age is applicable as per GOI norms.
Stipend: Rs 20,000 in the first year Rs 21,000 in the second year.

The last date for receipt of applications is 23rd September 2022. Applications received after the last date will not be considered.
General Information:

i. The institute reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates for test/ interview to a reasonable limit on the basis of relevant qualifications.
ii. Qualifications other than one prescribed in this advertisement will not be accepted.
iii. Candidates should apply through online mode only. Incomplete applications in any respect and application received physically shall not be considered.
iv. Mere fulfilling the essential and desired qualifications will not entitle an applicant to be called for an interview.
v. Shortlisted candidates will be required to appear for a written test/interview at the Raman Research Institute. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interviews.
vi. Call letters to attend the online examination and interview will be sent only to the eligible candidates by e-mail. Candidates are required to check their registered e-mail ID frequently. No correspondence will be made with applicants who are not short-listed.
vii. The institute reserves the right to relax any of the above requirements in exceptional cases.
viii. The Institute reserves the right not to fill the post herein advertised.
ix. The Institute reserves the right to verify the antecedents or documents submitted by the candidate at any time during the service. If the documents submitted by the candidate are not genuine, then his/her services shall be terminated.
x. No accommodation will be provided on the Institute campus during the course of their stay.
xi. Canvassing in any form shall disqualify the candidate.
